Matthew 7:13-23 - Many Reformed

listen to the audio read the outline look up the passage
22-May-2011 Morning Sermon. Are you on the narrow path or the wide path? Because the astonishing thing is that there are many Reformed on the wide path to destruction. Here are ten of the important things that this passage taught us yesterday:
(1) Having a lot of people in your church might (and might not) mean that your pastor is a wolf, no matter how much he looks like a sheep
(2) You can have right doctrine, and right practice, and still go to Hell
(3) Your knowing Jesus isn't nearly as important as Jesus knowing you
(4) You could actually do a lot of people a lot of good and still be as unsaved as the devil
(5) True believers would count Heaven itself as a Hell, if Jesus weren't there
(6) The second commandment is even more about Jesus' face (since we actually hope to lay eyes upon the real thing) than about the invisible God
(7) The fourth commandment didn't come to an end with the New Covenant, but by having the Lord of the Sabbath as the Lord of the Day, the Day is now finally and fully kept for the first time in the New Covenant
(8) If you don't love God's law, it's a good indicator that you are going to Hell
(9) Preachers who preach against thinking about and paying attention to and keeping the details of God's law are afflicting any genuinely converted people who happen to be in their congregations
(10) Preachers who preach against thinking about and paying attention to and keeping the details of God's law are convincing unconverted people that they are saved, so that they will say "Lord, Lord" at the judgment and go to Hell
